Question for JEOH :D

Postby RatCav on Sun Mar 06, 2016 11:14 am

Hi buddy.

I have a friend who is taxing his 3.1TD Isuzu Bighron in Germany. The tax is coming in at £900 a year. a Euro Norm value multiplied by each 100cc (i.e x 31). The problem is the 3.1 was never fitted with a DPF/CAT. If he had one fitted can he re-register it, or have it logged so it can reduce his tax costs?

Does this make sense :D

Cheers
Neal

Hi Neal,

I do understand the problem... To be honest, I do not know anything about the 3.1 Diesel, can not remember having read of an excisting Filter.

But I do know that Frontera B owners with the 2.2 dti are divided in two groups - the difference is in the engine because OPEL and the authorities only declare the later engines compatible with a DPF.

It is a common problem here - a conversion of engine/exhaust system - even out of the shelf of the same factory - needs an individual paper to get it legal. It is possible to do it youself with some engineers and some equipment needed, but it is too expensive!

It might be easier to geht a postbox or friend in the UK and register it abroad!
Once in a while some guys arouse with UK vor Polish rgeistered trucks in Herman opel4x4.de !

It is very ironic when you have a look at Volkswagen...

Please don't Kind ans mistakes - my Android is locked in Herman Autotranslation! Herman!
My god - german
Kind regards,
Ian

Cheers JEOH

Your Herman is fine :D

It confirmed what I thought. I seemed to recall you saying that if you make changes then it has to be individually registered. I will pass this information on to him.

Many thanks
Neal

Ahem...

Asked around Heer and learned there is a guy in the neighbourhood who owns a 1995 Opel Monterey with 3.1 TD with DPF
and therefore low er tax and green Emission-plaque, hat means no restriction of driving in cities with so-called environment-zones!

Requested for copies of the documents required... Give me a minute...
Kind regards,
Ian

We will see...

There are rumors around dealing with "green plaques" sold for profit without technical improvement or lower tax - just to sell a car easier cause of "environmental zones".
Kind regards,
Ian
