Daytime running lights

Postby caesium on Fri Jun 19, 2015 4:08 pm

Anyone fitted them, if so can I see a pic?

Just seeing if they are worthwhile or not, aesthetically speaking

Way to bright and obscure indicators so you cant see them working ,so we might aswell all drive bmws and audi as these dont use indicators as they are an option package.

Factory fitted ones do. Aftermarket kits are offen fitted wrong and positioned wrongly. The laws are very precise on what, how and where but noone including the old bill seem to give 2 hoots so people get away with having them on full brightness at night, pointing upwards and all sorts. Done right they increase your presence so people notice you at junctions etc and they can look good too. So do it right or don't do it at all

If drivers cant see you at junctions etc without DRL then they shouldn't be driving! They just blind people with sensitive eyes and then leave them on all night with headlights as well!

Or they dont turn on headlights in heavy rain as they have only front drl's and think that is ok,and why do they have to be so in your face, using every part of the head light to run drl's ,side lights worked fine on early volvos .

The 2 mentionned above didn't had drl... Just a grey car, in a grey fog...

To my mind, drl are just a dream of marketing peoples, who wanted to promote "new cars" against "older car", just to push some dummy asshole to purchase a brand new german car (it cames from audi and vw), instead of their "quite recent, reliable, but not up-to-date-because-not-equipped-with-those-damn-useless-but-highly-reacognisable-stuffs, just a way to show "yes, i can afford it!").

Formerly, drivers has to switch on lamp when usefull.
Then, some assholes decided that it would be better to make it automatically.
Then, to make it always.
Then, to get add-on light to be On when time is clear, but no more at night, replaced by normal ligts...

Next step?
I got to take some narcotics, and I may have the next astounding-new-useless-idea for car makers to get some money more...

I don't care, I'm not the target customer for them.
I run old cars, old bikes, even if I work for shops quite like Halfords...
