Re: A Vulcan Bomber TributeIts appreciated... Thank You
Re: A Vulcan Bomber TributeI was doing some work on the car about 2 weeks ago.
We live in an urban low fly zone, so quite often get fast jets and the red arrows buzzing over. But there was a roar like none we normally hear. Looked up, and flying over, just doing a turn, was the Vulcan. Can't have been more than 400ft, and was brilliant to see! It flew of 'up the road' so we were able to watch for a minute or so, before it went out of sight. For what it's worth it was worth all the while

Re: A Vulcan Bomber TributeSpotted today at Silverstone. Was up there for the BTCC, and they had the UK aerobatics going on at the same time (cars and plans in the same place, It was HEAVEN ) and i'm still smiling.
Thought the highlight of the day was meeting all the BTCC drivers, but No, at the end of the aerobatics they closed with this: Made the perfect end to a perfect day, and it was flown by Martin Withers! (not sure if thats how you spell his last name ) but he's the guy who flew the Vulcan to bomb Stanley Airfield when the argies invaded the Falklands. For what it's worth it was worth all the while

Re: A Vulcan Bomber TributeLol, it's ok Roo, been called worse. Have asked Steph to create her own account, you never know, maybe one day she will.
Anyway, back on topic, Went to a Christening today, and after was the Pub but driving, and with kids in car i won't touch a drop , but the Vulcan flew over about 4.30pm which was good. Seeing it twice in two days, either its very busy or i'm just lucky. the pub was near Abingdon Oxfordshire. The Vulcan just appeared and then was gone, so no chance to get any pics. Also, when i saw it at Silverstone, they said over the tannoy all about the plane etc, but then said that they have funding for this season of air display, but don't have enough yet for next year. hope they do get it, as it is one of the most amazing pieces of British engineering. For what it's worth it was worth all the while

Re: A Vulcan Bomber TributeNice pictures there headbanging glad you enjoyed it
I was lucky enough to see it myself yesterday at the Wings and Wheels Dunsfold Airshow. We thought it might not turn up because of the low cloud about, the commentator seemed to think it was possible that it would cancel its display because the weather. Also Dunsfold is quite close to the Gatwick Air Traffic so this was another hazard. But hey we got lucky so here it is Dunsfold Airshow ATB My Fronty thinks its a grown-up Tonka Toy [how sad is that] ?
