Bit more progress on my electric fan conversion.

Mounting frame finished and ready to install in the car

Electric fan switch purchased and arrived, this is going to be installed in the Thermostat housing by removing one of the obsolete sensors from the now defunct quick warm/EGR junk but the new sensor has an M14 thread and it doesnt fit either of the 2 holes available in the thermostat housing. M18 reducing bush and tap ordered so I can drill out the housing, tap a new thread, fit the bush and then screw the new sensor into the reducing bush, tidy like

I did start a thread here to try and find out what the normal temperature operating range is for a 2.8TDi but no one seems to know so I opted for a 95C on/85C off sensor
Soon to be without a Frontera after 10 years of owning one :-(

Replaced all four shocks on the P38. Took off the knackered Britpart ones (three of them weren't doing anything, and the last one only barely extended on its own steam), and replaced them with a full set of Terrafirma HD's

While under there I noticed/replaced a snapped front anti-roll bar link.

Last off noticed the rear back box had come off its rubber mount, so put that back in its rightful place.

End result: what a difference it has made to the ride. She felt comfy enough as it was, but now she handles beautifully. So much more confident in the corners, and the quick blast down some farm tracks near me she soaks the lumps, bumps, and potholes with ease. Well worth the money.

Got the starter fitted! Yippee!

Fitted the reverse switch ..i can see in the dark now when reversing ...always a good thing!

Anti-Roll bar bushes fitted!

All it cost was:
1. A few squashed fingers,
2. A hand full of scratches and cuts
3. Three sheared bolts.
4. Two sockets!
all in all..'miffed does not cover it! ... but its done I guess!
Better to be late than to lie in state!

Fronty 'A' - 2.4 LWB - 5 speed. named: Godzilla (it was green!) ;-)
Fronty 'B' - v6 3.2 ltd - Silver LWB - 5 speed manual.

Drained the oil. And the coolant.

I'm pretty certain they weren't both meant to come out the same hole though... :wall:

So, back to the drawing board and get things in motion to get this blessed truck back on the road. I know what needs to be done, just no funds till end of the month again (lots of events last couple of months). But at least I've chance to sort the electrical issues out in the meantime!
