x22se engine

Postby rimram on Fri Feb 08, 2008 11:40 am

Whats the difference between a X22XE engine and a X22SE 2.2 engine apart from the compression ratio, and can I put a X22XE into my Frontera B (year 2000) in place of the newer type? thanks for any info Tom. :? :?:

I wouldnt bother.

The x22xe is a break down waiting to happen. The rods are very week as the block is basically a bored out 2.0 - plus they are very hard to find second hand in good condition.

I take it you have an x22se with issues?? Whats the problem with it?

Hate to hi-jack the thread but is it possible (and worth) uprating the rods?
If you're sat there thinking things just can't get any worse, just wait......

The issue is that the engine has a hole the the block, I have located an x22SE engine but its in a omega, would I only have to chnge the sump and oil pickup or are there any other things to do?
