Road tyers for 4x4 are not like having a set of racing slicks I’m using road tyres as I do 250miles per week in the V6 on road. Off road they have been to pay and play sites without getting stuck and on hundreds of miles of green lanes (again without getting stuck) touching wood franticly now. I have even recovered vehicles stuck in ruts with more aggressive off road tyres. As have been said, it’s all about knowing limitations. Getting stuck in mud will happen to any one any time, regardless of the set up you have. Soft wet grass is a weakness of road tyres, knowing that allows one to drive appropriately. http://www.crag-uk.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I do a lot of serious off roading and my comment still stands - many thanks
Its NOT stupid to use road tyres off road if you know what your doing with them and have another car suitably equipped with you, some times first timers or those with a bit less spare cash cant justifiy the cost of AT's or MT's but can and do still have a good day pay and play or laning experiance.
As for driving where you shouldnt be, you shouldnt be there dont go there. You ARE stupid if you go where you shouldnt and have any type of tyres on. Ste
