nope ...thats no where near enough ...
you need at least a 9000lb pull i wouldn't put a 2000lb winch on anything bigger than a quad bike
have a look on ebay, im looking at the 12000lb ones they are going for about £260 with P+P and thats with a remote controle

Right, with regards to winches and bumpers there are 2 or 3 options.
Probably the most expensive one is to get a Calmini winch bumper (http://www.calmini.com). However these are made in the USA and have to be imported. They are also quite expensive. Somewhere in the region of 500+ pounds. And Im not sure if they are still being made or not, I know 1 or 2 members of FOG have them installed. This is by far the best looking option and mounts the winch fairly high up so your approach angle is better then a stock frontera bumper and valance. 2nd option is to make your own winch bumper. Not sure about the legality's of this though. 3rd and probably the most common option is to get a winch tray and fabricate your own mount. If you look at the front of your frontera, below the bumper you will see 2 chassis rails. If Im right (going by other peoples winch installations) you will need to extend these chassis rails out by adding box section and mounting the tray on those extensions. This does require welding box section to your car and is best carried out by an experienced welder as your winch will be dealing with extreme forces and has to hold the full weight of your frontera as well as the added resistance of mud, inclines, tree stumps etc. I do not have a winch, but it is something I am seriously considering in the near future. When I do get round to it I will be looking closely at fellow members winch installations and asking their advice. Hope this helps.
