how fast have you been in your fronty????? 70-80-90?

banter general discussions etc

Did some testing on private land to adjust my speedo to be a little more accurate (was about 10 mph out at 60). Had the sat nav showing 3 figures with the speedo reading about 5 more than that.

It's not my intention to spoil the thread 'cause I luv a bit of speed but on my bike  (fast, very fast...on a loooonnnggg private airfield  ) but......I am so content to trundle around in the fronty between 50 & 60 mph. There is sommat about the fronty which allows you to have a satisfying journey without going fast 8)

My Fronty is happy enough at 85 but 90+ is not impossible. just need the runway at heathrow to get there.
My older 2.5 diesel sat for a good few miles at just on a ton on a German Autobahn.  My ears were ringing for some time after. Not just from the missus screams either the noise from the engine was something else :? :?

Well i have got my 2.4 up-to 95 mph on the M50 at night and my old 2.4 up to 109 mph around Donington Park race track when i went with some mates to test autograss cars on tarmac so i had a go in the fronty to see what speed i could get it up too, the only problem was stopping afterwards

Lets just say that one saturday mornig I scared myself and decided that I needed to slow down  (and I don't scare under 3 figues)

Frequently cruise at 80 (indicated) but still plenty more available if I wanted.

One thing I love about mine is thast I can be going around 55, floor it and still get kicked in the back by the seat as the turbo re ignites and am amazed at how quickly the speedo goes up

Have just put a 5.7 litre V8 into an S10 Blazer which is pretty much the predicessor to the fronty. If I give it some welly 4th gear ( auto ) will drop in at 80, unfortuneately the clock only goes up to 85, havent set the tracking up yet ( front wheels point sort of in the same direction ) so I lost my bottle at about that point, oh and the 6mpg was at the back of my mind as well!
