Spotted/Anti-freeze

Postby tonyakela on Wed Dec 19, 2007 8:09 pm

F.O.G sticker spotted in Witham today?
Can someone clear up a little querie for me. i was once told that anti-freeze is thinner than water and should be added over a period of time as if theres any weak points in head gasket, the anti-freeze will find it?

not been on the forum for ages, just lost my dad, i bin a total wreck, not done much of anything really, he was a fronty driver too.

And i have a 2.3, they never go wrong

Sorry to here about your dad :(

I am sure the FOG members will keep you spiets up with banter and observations :D

As for the anty freez I have not heard that on before but wonder why you would use it to test for a head gasget leek.

When I put it in I normaly mix it with the water 1st in a watering can.
What happens, happens. What doesn't happen is not meant to :)

Sorry to hear about your Dad. :(

TIDDLES

I think he is saying that if He doesn't mix the anti freeze first, he has heard that pure anti freeze this will attack any weak points in the head gasket. This is while waiting for the anti freeze and water to mix in the engine.

Sorry if I am wrong on this.

Oh, and sorry I don't know the answer.
Cheers,
Huw.
