What dose anyone else think,
Should i get my old J reg 2.4i LWB repaired for using as a 2nd car + offroad play toy for weekends or would i be better off getting a diesel shorty ( thats very cheap ) & selling the J reg 2.4i as have not got room for 3 of them .
well the old 2.4i failed the MOT on these things.
1) nearside upper ball joint .
2) offside upper ball joint .
3) offside lower ball joint .
4) offside rear wheel bearing .
5) both leaf spring shackle pins/bushes have excessive wear.
6) offside rear outer sill needs welding ( about a 2" x 3" area )
been told by garage would cost about £822.09 for all to be done . not got much time to do any of it myself .
also before long would need 2 new doors on her.
just would like to know what others thoughts are as the wife has said i can't use the M reg 2.4i LWB for playing with as if i break it we would not be able to take kids to school or me get to work , But i can have a 2nd one for playing with at weekends .
sorry its a long post .
thanks for any help.
I Like this Truck of mine, just like me it's well run in it's not old just older.

Never seen a SWB Diesel that was cheap
Are they all Isuzu 2.8's? If so then they will always fetch a premium price.
I'd buy another cheap LWB Diesel and use anything needed off the old car to bring it up to scratch.

Modifications: 1957 Registration Number. Chrome A Bar. Screw-on side indicator lenses. That's about it really. The secret is in the servicing and rust prevention. Do all my own.
Planning: Just to keep it as it is for as long as possible.

I voted swb diesel play toy, because thats what I did. Keeping the lwb for the main motor.
But as above I spent a few months finding it, they aint easy to track and £1400 really was cheap, you can as many here have done get a 2.0 really cheap £300 happens. As a pure off-roader the lr box will make up a lot for the smaller engine, just need the electrics really water proofing.
Fronty no.4, pimp mobile Treg 3.2 LWB lifted 2.5"
Fronty no.5 2.8 swb hd coils +2" 31"machos.

Just get yourself a SWB I have the 2litre and they do a great job off-roading....I go most places that the diesels go
its just a matter of choice between diesel and petrol but it has to be a SWB everytime
2.8TD SWB in ASBO Green 1996 Sport S 31-10.5-16 Machos fitted Hi-Lift Jack/Waffle Boards and Asbo Rack !
Its not the size of your engine....its how you use it that counts !

Hi
I've been doing photography for a few years but mainly as a hobby , till this year when i set up as a Freelance photographer after my work hours were cut back , mainly been taking photos of autograss other wise it's been a bit slow getting photos published anywhere but not been doing to bad with the website .
The main problem i have is that my wife has been a Freelance photographer for many years so she gets most of the work , but i get a lot of tips how to do things
As for the fonty i think i will go with a shorty to play with just got to get rid of old 2.4i first then see whats about for not much money
I Like this Truck of mine, just like me it's well run in it's not old just older.
