Annual meet 2017 details

Annual meet 2017 details

Postby stretch on Mon Jul 11, 2016 6:46 pm

It may seem like madness to start planning already but venues get filled up quick. For 2017 we will be returning to Avalanche. A number of you have been there before so know what it's like. We'll have use of the field again and with full use of the off road track on one or both days and obviously some laning as well. This would be a great opportunity for newer members to come and join in the fun as well and try out their trucks on the course. It's also great for those who want to bring their 'toy's as

All Vehicles need to be fitted with a full exhaust system but no tax or MOT is required.

Dates will be Friday 28th April to Monday 01st May arrival from 12:00 on friday.

Just to clear up a few details now......

There is no water hook up (there is a tap to fill your container).
There are NO electrical hookups but generators are permitted.
There are showers and toilets.
There is NO sky tv, wifi, caravan butler services or any such luxuries.
I don't know how much it will cost until I get an idea of numbers.

This is your 9 month (and a bit) heads up for the dates so it should give one ample opportunity to book time off work etc.

It would be great if people could post if their interested in attending just to give me an idea of numbers.

Hi

What's the deal with these events in terms of car preparation. Are they only suitable for cars with off road mods or can you bring a bog standard fronty?

Cheers

Bog standard is perfectly fine. Some people come just for the social side of things and don't do any off reading or laning. And iirc all the lanes around there can be done in a standard truck as long as your not on racing slicks lol

A/T tyres minimum although the lanes are fairly sedate people with road tyres have got stuck early on. For the course a few years ago i did it with A/Ts and a 2in lift.

Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer!

This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ;) )
