 DEVILS PIT - 2nd MARCH 2003

March 2nd was a significant day as this was our first group meeting since it was formed.

We met at 10am at the Devils Pit off roading site. It was great to put some names to faces, after a brief
chat we all proceeded to the entry point, vehicle check and registration ( and parting with some
cash - £26 for the day! ) we convoyed over to the main parking area inside the campus. We stopped
there for a while whilst we indulged in some tea & coffee and the odd bacon sandwich. We discussed our strategy and as we were all novices we chose the easiest route first  - green.
There are three routes in total - Green, Red & Black and so we began our offroading venture.....

Nik Volunteered to lead the way..

we were all wondering whether we were on the right route as it did seem quite a challenge from the on set.....
we all kept asking "is this the green route ??"  - but low and behold it was... soon we were in the thick
of it  -  mud everywhere

slowly we all progressed through the sludge

We  all managed to get through the section o.k. , we stopped had some lunch and went for a wonder to see what the guys were upto on the "black" section . ( this requires a roll cage due to the steep inclines).

After lunch we had another play -

At approx 2pm we concluded our day with a final photo session and chat before departing our separate
ways. All in all an excellent  and worthwhile day out. Highly recommended.

We all then had the daunting prospect  of jet washing our cars..

Roll on the next offroading event......
