Just traded my Jan. '99 Frontera. Dealer talked of
auctioning it so I removed the side steps and A-bar,
see photo. Both items in good condition and complete
with fittings. Cost £379 in 2003, sell for £95 or,

FRONTERA SPORTS 1996
Reluctantly i am selling 1 of my frontys. P reg
1996 Sport "s" MOT until 29th July 2008 Taxed until
end of Jan.
This is the facelift "a" with coil sprung R
suspension.
purple, Bodywork in vgc appart from the bonnet that
needs re-painting
The car currently has the 15" alloys as they are
wider but included will be the original 16" alloys.
I beleive it is the Ecotec engine?? with 89 k on
the clock
the interior is good appart from wear on the drivers
seat pipeing and small tear in the bolster
New parts fitted full exhaust and fan sender
switch also a dvd player is fitted but no screens
included
As above this is a good reliable motor but
unfortunatly the gearbox is noisey and will need to
be replaced,
A replacement box will cost between £50 and £100
and fitting about the same.
Due to work commitments,having a company car and
another fronty toy i have not fixed it..
Please note this fronty has never been off-roaded by
me and looks like it has never been off road.
also note i have never recieved the log book but i
have the new keepers supplement.
Selling for £600 but i am open to sensible offers

Beloved Frontera 2.3 for sale Merseyside £650
have just had my insurance quote and can't
realistically justify driving the Frontera anymore
which is a real real shame. I had a crash two years
ago (not in this car please note)
and the insurance shit has hit the fan now, over a
grand!!!!!
The car is a silver Grey 2.3 Diesel Fontera K reg

Sailed through its’ last MOT
In generally good condition for its’ age 14 years old
afterall
Good bits are it starts first time runs well.
Tyres are good all round plus spare although one wheel
is odd (steel rim not alloy)
the rest are alloys and I have set of another wheels
(4 alloy and 1 different alloy condition one tyre is
flat/punctured
one stabbed one bald one good included in the sale)
New Battery
New Clutch and prop shaft end
Glow Plugs,oil change and filter, and air filter
change easter
Fuel Tank has had solid bracket constructed as bolts
sheared (that was fun!)
Upholstery is in decent condition nor major rips
Alarm and immobiliser
Gearbox is good goes into 4x4 no problems
Bad Bits
I am being totally honest here
Done over 186,000 miles.........
As with most old 2.3’ sounds like a tractor once it’s
warmed up it feels and sounds better
the oil light also flashes intermittently
Not working-water temp guide-think the sender has
packed in doesn’t loose water or overheat though
Rev counter wire has come undone I’ll look at that one
too.
World’s crappiest radio
Driver door is dropping slightly due to gust of wind
Sidelight not working I’ll sort that out
Some of the roof lining is ripped right at the back
Doesn't smoke much- on starting it'll smoke if you
have touched the gas pedal and will smoke if you floor
it suddenly could do with a basic service.
Leaves a few small spots of oil nowt serious.

3.2 V6 Limited auto vgc 56,000 miles, mot'd - but
no tax; currently on SORN due to job loss and big
cost cutting exercise.
We have had this for 3
years, previous and only other owner was Vauxhall .
It has been totally reliable and a very nice car to
have around for all sorts of reasons but poverty
means it now has to go.

Now that I am a poor skanky student, my wife and I
have decided to sell one of our cars. As she
can't/won't drive the Fronty it has to go. It has
served us well for the past year or so and we are both
genuinely reluctant to let it go.

Good points:
Brand spanking new MoT
New rear tyres and plenty of life in fronts (Insa
Turbo Sahara)
Recent cam belt
Recent oil/air/fuel filters and oil change
New gas shocks all round
New rear roll bar link (all it needed for MoT)
Twin towing sockets (working ok)
Genuine Vauxhall roof bars
Bad points:
Cold starting problem, not sure what's causing this.
Will fire and run rough for approx 30 secs then runs
perfectly. Engine is good and powerful as it should
be.
Driver's window works intermittently.
Rear offside window U/S
Driver's speaker not working.
Driver's seat a bit tired (cosmetically ok, but
doesn't support too well).
Could do with a polish, but no damage or corrosion to
bodywork.

Also have 4 part worn road tyres available to buyer

Valve. Mine since 2002 and regularly serviced via
retired Foreman Fitter. Oil changed every 6
months. Waxoiled when I bought her and only two
previous owners before me. Full top end overhaul at
72,000 miles, now 99,000 miles. Recent service and
new brake calliper. Always gets what she needs.
Very clean, see picture taken 21 Oct, comfortable
and quite vehicle. MOT September 2008 and Taxed to
end of March 2008.
