You could probably hook up with me and Hound Dog there, cos if I'm meeting him round his way, we may as well go the M25 M1 route.

Where and when are you planning to meet?

ok, so now that we have a south cost convoy....whats the plan for the SE?? are you going M1 way or M11 way?

Might it be a idea to start a name list for the convoy and were we'd ideally meet?

Reckon I might have to meet you guys up at the venue as I won't be leaving till very early Saturday morning (no wise cracks Greg about my ability to get somewhere early  ).
I intend to get away at the crack of sparrows so as to still get there for a full playing day on the Saturday.

High there,
as we will arrive at Dover sometime past 12:00PM, our poor one-car-convoy from the continent will not join the SE one...
Is there any traffic jam expected around London - I now heard about a little royal event taking place in London that Friday?! What are your experiences with that events... I am afraid I knew more about Rome and the vatican then traffic situation around London! Wehre will I get actual information that day?
Kind regards,
Ian

If your coming in via Dover we won't have to touch London.
M20 upto M25 - anti clockwise M25 to Dartford crossing then carry on round M25 to M1 north or alternatively M11 north (avoids M1 road works).
Hope that helps.

As Retro Pedro says, the Royal wedding should not cause any problems for you provided you stick to the motorways.
The best source for traffic info around London will be radio.
In Kent, Heart on 103.1fm or 102.8 for the M20 & M25
After the Dartford Toll Tunnel (it's £1.50 so try to get some change on the Ferry  ) Change to Heart SX on 102.6fm

Both these stations usually have travel news every 15min throughout the day however this may change due to the royal wedding.

If you have internet access on your travels you can check the motorways at http://www.trafficengland.com/motorwayf ... t=true#mtf
This provides real time data on the roads.

If using the M11 route then I would only expect queues at the Dartford tunnel tolls and on the M25 between junctions 29 & 28 (road works), but they should not add any significant time to your journey.
I cannot comment on the M1 route as I do not know of any problems currently on it which may affect your journey.

Hope this helps, and have a safe trip here :D
Any other questions please ask
Traffic lights in London are just rough guidelines

Right SE Foggers we need to get this sorted so we all know whats going on...

I think it is gonna be easier and better to sort one large convoy going M1 that trying to syncronise 2...spoke to Badboy and he is cool with bringing the Essex mob the m1 route instead of the M11.
Andytats are you cool with diving down the m11 the short distance from Harlow to meet us at South Mimms Services?
Hipo..have looked at the maps and for you to cut across to the m1 is gonna be as far as for you to get there, unless you know somewhere you wanna meet us after the M1 leg...

We want to really limit the amount of stops, as I know what you lot (and me) are like...and each one will turn into 20 mins chin wagging about trucks and we wont end up getting their till sunday!!!

So hows this for a plan to keep it simples??

Kent Foggers...
Meet at services just before Dartford tunnel at 10.30 to leave by 10.45

Essex foggers...
meet Kent foggers at South mimms services on the m25 at 11.30 to leave by 11.45

Kent and Essex foggers...
meet Jim and the Southern convoy at Toddington services on the M1 for 12.30pm

I would ask that members who want to travel in convoy to the above meet points, at the times above, arrange that between themselves locally...so I will liase with Kel, Ste, and Paul (mapracing) and anyone else from down ere, and Paul Badboy will be the liason for the Essex massive...

If I have messed up on the times above and havent allowed enough time for any leg, let me know and i will amend this post so we all know what we are doing...
Need to get this sorted in the next couple of days so everyone is clear, as will be rebuilding the 2.8 most of next week

also...Jeoh...I will pm you my mobile number, if you give me a ring when you hit the uk I will give you an update on the state of the M1 route as we will be couple of hours ahead of you...that way you can make an informed decision on whether to go M11 (the unknown) or the M1 if it helps..
